Even today his acting, his style is alive in the hearts of the people. Devanand ji was born on 26 September 1923 in Gurdaspur (now in Narowal Pakistan). Dev Saheb’s real name was Dharamdev Anand, which later became famous as Devanand. Dev Sahab was not only an actor, he was also a successful director and film producer. In view of his contribution to the film world, the Government of India honored him with Dadasaheb Phalke in 2002 and Padma Bhushan in 2002.
In his time, he had made a different place in the hearts of female fans with his special performance by leaning and communicating.. Dev Sahab was always different from his contemporary actors. How many actors have come and gone but the one who belonged to Charm Dev Saheb would hardly belong to any actor of that era. There are many such stories of Devanand, who was a master of romance in his era, but the most interesting anecdote is his black coat and white shirt being banned in public places. It was a bit strange for the court to ban his dressing style, but the reason behind this was that after wearing his black coat and white shirt, many women while roaming on public places. Dev Saheb received his graduation in English literature from Lahore in 1942. Dev Saheb wanted to study further, but his father clearly told him that now he has no money to teach further. If he wants to study further, then take a job. Then he came to Mumbai and started the golden journey of Dev Saheb. He had only 30 rupees and he had no place to stay in Mumbai. Devanand took a room in a hotel near the railway station where three other people also came with him to try his luck in the Mumbai cinema world. He started with a salary of Rs 160 per month in the Military Censor Office. Soon he got an opportunity to work in a Prabhat Talkies film Hum Ek Hai and during the shooting in Poona, he became friends with the superstar of his time, Guru Dutt. After some time he got a big break through Ashok Kumar .. and gradually with his hard work and amazing performance, he made a different identity in the film world.
