New Delhi, October 19. The Kejriwal government is continuously working towards making the roads of Delhi world class. While work is being done on better roads for vehicles, the government has prepared a walkability plan for the pedestrians on the roads by the working group of UTPAK headed by LG Anil Baijal. Its entire monitoring is being done by the Lieutenant Governor himself. In Delhi, under the first phase, a walkable plan of 15 places has been prepared. This plan has now been sent to the Delhi Urban Art Commission.

Let us tell you that out of the walkability plans made for 15 places in Delhi, many plans have already been approved by the governing body of UTpac. At the same time, preparations have been made to get the approval of the governing body for the rest of the plan. This type of plan will be implemented for other places giving further expansion. In the meantime, if seen, the work of taking this entire plan on the ground will be done by the respective agencies holding the land. At the same time, in addition to the Public Works Department of the Delhi Government, the three Municipal Corporations of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council, Delhi Cantonment, Transport Department and other related departments including Traffic Police will have an important responsibility.

This entire plan has been prepared by UTPAC. At the same time, it has been prepared on the basis of street design guidelines. Under this scheme, special attention will be given to greenery along with making special arrangements for footpaths. Work will also be done to promote it. Apart from this, emphasis will also be given on pedestrian crossings, street furniture and signage etc. for pedestrians.
