Prophet Mohammed’s birth anniversary
The birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad is celebrated on the 12th day of Rabi Al Awwal. In Arabic this holiday is known as Eid Mawlid Al Nabawi. This holiday is seen more as an observance of Islamic rules than a celebration. On this day Muslims express their commitment by fasting or reciting the Quran.
According to the Georgian calendar, Prophet Muhammad was born in 570 AD. The birthplace of the Prophet is Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The date is not completely clear according to this calendar. However, Muslims give special importance to the 12th day of the Islamic month Rabi al-Awwal, the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad.
