Taipei: China and Taiwan In the midst of tensions deepening, Taiwan’s Defense Minister Chiu Kuo Cheng has bluntly told China that Taiwan is fully prepared to defend itself. Taiwan’s Defense Minister has clearly said that even if China attacks their country and no country in the world helps them, they will still fight for their defense and Taiwan is ready to defend itself. Taiwan’s Defense Minister has also said that the US can help him and he is very sure of it.
Before the Defense Minister of Taiwan, President Tsai Ing Wen has also given an aggressive statement about China. In an interview to CNN, the President of Taiwan has said that American soldiers are training Taiwanese soldiers in Taiwan to fight China. The President has also said that he has full confidence that if China attacks Taiwan, America will stand to help them.
China considers Taiwan as its part, while the US has recognized it as a separate country in 1979 itself. A completely independent government runs in Taiwan and China continues to threaten Taiwan by staying. Tensions between China and Taiwan have risen steadily over the past few years, and according to Taiwan’s defense minister, tensions in recent times are at their highest in 40 years.
Recently, China sent 200 of its fighter planes into Taiwan’s airspace, after which the tension between China and Taiwan has increased even more. Taiwan’s aid has also been assured from the US side. US President Joe Biden recently said that if China attacks Taiwan, the US will come to its rescue. Biden had said that the US is committed to the defense of Taiwan.
