New Delhi: The veteran actor of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, Nattu Kaka i.e. Ghanshyam Nayak is no longer in this world. Ghanshyam Nayak was fighting a battle with cancer for the last several months. The actor breathed his last on 3 October. He also had two operations a few months back. At the age of 77, he said goodbye to the world. His son has given information about how Ghanshyam was fighting his illness.
Ghanshyam Nayak had 9 chemotherapy
Talking to ETimes, Nattu Kaka i.e. Ghanshyam Nayak’s son Vikas shared many important information. Vikas said during the conversation, ‘A year ago my father had cancer surgery. This was followed by radiation and chemotherapy. His cancer was so rare that the method of treatment seemed to be trial-n-error. He had 9 chemotherapy sessions, out of which 5 last year and 4 this year. This was followed by 30 radiation sessions. It was around September 2020 and things seemed to be under control, but in March 2021, Papa’s face developed swelling. We assumed it was a result of radiation, but tests showed that the cancer had spread to his lungs.
Take help of homeopathy and ayurveda
Ghanshyam Nayak’s son said, ‘We resumed chemotherapy in April 2021, followed by 4 sessions in 2021. The sessions went on till June, but there was no improvement. The swelling didn’t go down either, but Dad insisted that he still wanted to go to work and so he did a little shooting and an ad for ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. We did a test again this time and realized that the cancer was now not only in the lungs but also in other parts of the body. We stopped chemotherapy and took help of homeopathy and ayurveda, but the condition kept getting worse.

Ghanshyam Nayak’s son further said, ‘Father was having trouble breathing for the last few days and we tried to arrange oxygen and nurses at home, but the matter became more serious, after which we Took them to the hospital. He had to be admitted to the ICU, when his condition improved a bit, he was shifted to the room. Again his condition worsened and he was again sent back to the ICU. 15 days before his death, his sugar had increased a lot, he was not even recognizing anyone. When the sugar level came down, he started recognizing people again.

Talking about the last minute, Ghanshyam Nayak’s son said, ‘However, on October 2, father asked me, ‘Who am I?’ He had forgotten his own name. That’s when I realized that he was going to another world. After his death we called a professional make-up artist to do makeup on his face. He wanted to say goodbye to this world with makeup. Let me tell you that when his pulse stopped, there was immense peace on his face.
