New Delhi. The last date for changes in the squad of any team for the T20 World Cup (ICC T20 World Cup 2021) is today i.e. 10 October. The BCCI had already announced the Indian team for the World Cup before the second half of IPL 2021. There were reports that there could be some changes in Team India based on the performance of IPL. But the BCCI has confirmed that the team selected for the T20 World Cup (T20 World Cup 2021 India Squad) will not change.
News agency IANS has quoted a BCCI official as saying that there will be no change in Team India for the T20 World Cup starting from October 17. Yes, if a player gets injured, then a new player can be included in the team as his replacement.
Earlier there were reports that captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma will have a meeting with the selectors to finalize the 15-man squad before the squad change deadline. However, sources close to the board told the agency that no such formal meeting would take place.
The squad for the World Cup was announced last month
Let us tell you that the BCCI had announced the Indian team for the World Cup on 8 September. In this, many people were surprised to see the names of players like Yuzvendra Chahal, Shikhar Dhawan. Shreyas Iyer, who was returning from injury in this team, was included as a reserve player. At the same time, Shardul Thakur was also in this list.
Hardik Pandya to remain in World Cup squad
Hardik Pandya’s form and fitness is one of the biggest concerns for the Indian team management at the moment. Because the star all-rounder did not bowl a single ball in the second half of the IPL and his performance with the bat also remained shaky. Pandya was included in the team as the fourth fast bowler. But, he is not bowling. This can upset the balance of Team India in the T20 World Cup. However, sources related to the board have made it clear that Pandya will also remain in the team and soon he will start bowling in the nets.
Umran Malik will join the team as a net bowler
Meanwhile, IANS has also learned that BCCI has asked young fast bowler Umran Malik to join Team India’s bio-bubble as a net bowler. He will join the team on Sunday. Sources said that some uncapped bowlers from the IPL franchise have also been asked to stay in the UAE and join the Indian team as net bowlers for the tournament.
