Dubai. Former Australia cricketer Shane Watson has drawn comparisons between Chennai Super Kings pacer Josh Hazlewood and former Australia pacer Glenn McGrath. He pointed out that there are a lot of similarities between the two in terms of control and accuracy.
“The thing I love about Hazlewood is that he has control over the ball coming out of his fingers, and that’s what makes him similar to McGrath,” Watson said in the Star Sports Select dugout. The control that McGrath’s bowling used to have when Josh has it from a young age, so I compared the two.
Hazlewood has taken eight wickets in nine matches for Chennai in IPL 2021 at an economy rate of 8.51. In 17 T20Is for Australia, Hazlewood has taken 21 wickets at an economy rate of 7.98.
Hazlewood will join his national team for the T20 World Cup after the IPL 2021 final.
