According to the Xinhua news agency report, Freitas told the Lusa news agency that Portugal has given priority to everyone due to vaccination. He thanked the public and health professionals for the cooperation that has enabled Portugal to lead the global vaccination race.
According to a health ministry statement, about 15.3 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country, leaving 8.4 million people fully vaccinated. In addition, Portugal is also immunizing adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, with 83 percent completing their vaccinations. As of Sunday morning, Portugal has recorded a total of 1,074,813 COVID-19 cases and 18,027 deaths, according to official figures.
