Mohammad Yakub has deep ties with Kashmiri terrorists. He is associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish terrorist organizations operating in Kashmir. In his first public speech in front of the world, Mulla Yakub appealed to the business community of the country to invest in the health sector. Mullah Yakub said that if investment in the health sector increases, then the Afghan people will not have to go abroad.

Mullah Yakub is viewed with great respect within the Taliban but does not get along with the leaders of the Haqqani network, the pet organization of the ISI. The Qandahari faction led by Mullah Yakub does not want any interference from the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. While the ISI Haqqani network It wants to maintain Afghanistan as a territory occupied by Pakistan.

Since both of them are close to Pakistan, an agreement was reached after the intervention of the ISI chief, under which Yakub has been made the Defense Minister of Afghanistan. Yakub is the chief of Taliban’s military operations. Terrorists of the terrorist organizations Lashkar and Jaish-e-Mohammed used to attack the Afghan army. He was declared the overall leader of the Taliban during the various conflicts of succession. But in 2016 he was declared the leader of the Taliban by overtaking Hebtullah Akhundzada.
