Digital Desk, Bangalore. Popular Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar died of a heart attack on Friday. He was the son of Kannada cinema legend Rajkumar. Puneet was 46 years old. Although there has been no official confirmation from the hospital, condolences have started pouring in.

According to family sources, Puneet suffered a heart attack during a workout at the gym, after which he was immediately admitted to Vikram Hospital. Ranganath Nayak said his condition was critical when he was brought to the hospital. Puneet was being treated in the ICU. Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant has reached Puneet’s residence in Sadashivnagar.

Puneet was born on 17 March 1975. People affectionately called him Appu. The actor was also a singer, television host and producer. He has acted in more than 29 films. He has also appeared in many films as a child artist. Puneeth won the National Film Award for Best Child Actor for his role in Bettada Hoovu. She debuted in Kannada film industry with Appu in 2002.
