Nature of Study
During the two-year trial, the researchers studied 60 old age homes in Australia. Of the 7,195 elderly people living in these, 72 percent were women. The average age of all of them was 86 years. During this it was found that they were not deficient in vitamin D, but the intake of calcium and protein was less than the recommended amount.
