New Delhi, 19 October: The Delhi government, which is active in the direction of electric vehicles in India, has started online registration of e-auto permits. In which 33 percent has been kept reserved for women. State Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said that the Delhi government has started online registration of e-auto permits with 33 per cent reservation for women. He said that in the first phase, there would be around 4,261 e-car permits including 1,406 for women applicants. Eligible customers can apply through the website of the Transport Department, Government of Delhi to proceed with this process.
The Transport Minister shared on Twitter that the issuance of e-auto permits is an effective step taken by the Arvind Kejriwal government towards making Delhi the electric vehicle capital. He further said that the Delhi government is working as per its plan to provide pollution free, world class transport service in the city. The state government, under its electric vehicle policy, had said that it would provide a financial assistance of Rs 30,000 on the purchase of an e-car. Any person who has Aadhaar number, valid driving license of light motor vehicle or TSR driving license with Delhi address will be eligible to apply for e-auto permit.
Public Service Vehicle badge will not be required at the time of application. However, the Transport Department stated that applicants must obtain the badge within 45 days of the draw of permit allotment. At the same time, the last date to apply for the permit is November 1. The report states that the agencies nominated by the Delhi government will be able to provide loans with a five percent interest subvention. The government will also organize an ‘e-auto fair’ at IDTR Sarai Kale Khan and Loni from October 25 to October 31, where interested customers can explore, drive and access e-auto models and get loan information .
