David Warner out on duck Glenn Maxwell support says doubting him is an absolute no

New Delhi. Australia’s star opener David Warner could not even open an account against New Zealand in the practice match before the T20 World Cup. After this, some cricket fans raised questions on social media but his teammate Glenn Maxwell is standing in his support. Maxwell has said that Warner will again do wonders with the bat and there is no room to doubt him in any way.

Warner’s performance in the 14th season of IPL (IPL 2021) was not special. He flopped with the bat in the first leg of the season and was dropped from the captaincy of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Later he also found it difficult to make a place in the playing XI. He played only 2 matches in the UAE stage as well. In Australia’s first warm-up match against New Zealand, he became a ‘golden duck’ and was dismissed on the very first ball of the innings.

Despite the poor form, Maxwell has praised Warner. He also termed Warner as a superstar of all three formats and hoped to do well in the tournament. Maxwell said, ‘If you are ever thinking of doubting Warner, then it is not so at all. There is no scope to do so. You know he has the power to turn any match around. He is a superstar of all three formats. He has scored so many runs. He is one of the greats of the game.

Maxwell further said, ‘Unfortunately Martin Guptill caught his catch in the practice match. It seems that Gop (Guptill) has a lot going against us. Things like this happen when you’re on the lookout. He (Warner) is going to take the field to perform well in the T20 World Cup. He is a big player in our team.
