The South American nation recorded 600,425 deaths and 21,550,730 cases in the past 24 hours, after registering 615 deaths and 18,172 cases in the past 24 hours, Xinhua news agency reported.
Brazil managed to emerge from the collapse of healthcare due to a second wave of COVID-19 infections between March and June and is currently in a stable state, with an average of 453 deaths per day, the lowest figure since November 2020.
It took 111 days for the number of deaths due to corona in the country to go from 500,000 to 600,000, as opposed to the 51-day period it recorded 400,000 to 500,000 deaths in the first half of the year.
Brazil is the third largest country in the world after the US and India with the highest number of corona virus cases.
According to official figures, 97.2 million people or 45.5 percent of the population in Brazil have been fully vaccinated, while 14.88 million people, or 69.7 percent, have received a single dose.
