Digital Desk, Dubai. New Zealand pacer Adam Milne is hopeful that he can trouble the Indian batsmen and make a difference in the result by maintaining his momentum in the T20 World Cup match against India. Milne has been included in the New Zealand squad as a replacement for the injured Lockie Ferguson. The Indian team and New Zealand will face each other on Sunday.

The Kiwis included Adam Milne as a reserve player, but after Ferguson’s injury, he got a chance in the main team. He was also supposed to play the match against Pakistan, but upon reaching the ground, it was learned that till then he had not received permission from the ICC to replace the injured player.

Milne, who has been in good spirits in shorter formats like the Big Bash League, Vitality Blast and The Hundred, said, “Yes, I definitely feel like this has been the best period I’ve had in cricket in a long time. I would like to make the most of this momentum and improve my game further while continuing to do well at the moment. I am excited to make a difference with the ball here (T20 World Cup) and really prove that it Timing is influential to me.”

Adam Milne was a part of Mumbai Indians in the recently concluded IPL. He believes that New Zealand’s performance could have been better had he been playing in the match against Pakistan. New Zealand’s team lost this match by five wickets.

Regarding the Pakistan match, he said, “Looking at the kind of pitches it was during the IPL, the fast bowlers were getting uneven bounce. This was causing problems for the batsmen. Maybe the team is a little more because of me being there. Would have been stronger. Our bowlers did well but Pakistan team batted brilliantly in the last overs.
