Ahead of festivals, Maharashtra government extended the timings of hotels, shops

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Tuesday, ahead of Diwali, has decided to extend the timings for restaurants and shops, further relaxing the rules of the epidemic.
As per the new orders, which will come into force with immediate effect, all shops and establishments will be allowed to remain open till 11 pm instead of 9 pm to handle the festive shopping rush in the next few days.
Similarly, all hotels, restaurants, eateries can remain open even after 10 pm.
From October 22, all cinemas and amusement parks will be opened. However, the decision to reopen wet rides or water parks has been deferred for now.
The state government is also considering a proposal to allow passengers taking both doses to travel in Mumbai suburban local trains. Even high schools and junior colleges have started functioning from October 4 with strict norms.
The Health Department is keeping a close watch on the emerging Kovid-19. For the first time since March 26, 2020, Mumbai has become alert after zero deaths were recorded on October 17.
