Abu Salem Bail Petition Rejected By Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has refused to grant bail to underworld don Abu Salem. A bench of judges comprising Justices NV Ramana, Surya Kant and Hima Kohli dismissed Salem’s bail plea. However, the court, after considering the facts and circumstances of the case, directed the registry to list the appeal filed against the special TADA court’s decision dated February 25, 2015, in the third week of November 2021. This decision of the Supreme Court is no less than a big setback for Abu Salem.

TADA court has given life sentence
Mumbai builder Pradeep Jain was murdered in 1995 and since then gangster Abu Salem is serving life imprisonment. In the case, the special court of TADA has sentenced him to life imprisonment. It is noteworthy that on February 25, 2015, a special TADA court had sentenced Salem to life imprisonment for the murder of the builder and his driver Mehndi Hassan. According to the police, on March 7, 1995, Jain was shot dead by assailants in front of his bungalow in Juhu for not handing over a huge property to Salem.

Salem committed murder for refusing to pay money
It is alleged that when Pradeep Jain refused to give money to Abu Salem, he was murdered. In 2014, some charges against Abu Salem were dropped. At that time, the defense had said in the court that in order to maintain good relations between India and Portugal in the future, it is necessary that some charges against Salem should be dropped. Significantly, the Bollywood connections of Abu Salem were also revealed. Apart from this, many more serious cases are registered against Abu Salem.
