New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, 8,488 new cases of coronavirus were reported in India, which is the lowest in 538 days. These figures were shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday.
In the last 24 hours, 249 people died while fighting Corona, due to which the death toll from Corona across the country has increased to 4,65,911.
Due to the recovery of 12,510 infected people of Corona, the number of people recovering has increased to 3,39,34,547. India’s recovery rate is 98.31 percent, which is the highest since March 2020.
There are 1,18,443 active cases of corona across the country. At present, the total active cases in the country are 0.34 percent of the positive cases, which is the lowest since March 2020.
Also, in the last 24 hours, a total of 7,83,563 tests were conducted across the country, due to which the number of people who got the corona test increased to 63.25 crore.
Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate of 0.93 per cent has remained below 2 per cent for the past 58 days.
The daily positivity rate at 1.08 per cent is also down from 2 per cent for the last 49 days and less than 3 per cent for 84 consecutive days.
With Corona giving 32,99,347 vaccine doses to people in the last 24 hours, India’s corona vaccination coverage has reached 116.87 crores till Monday morning.
This has been achieved through 1,20,77,324 sessions.
