2,396 new covid cases found in Singapore

Singapore: 2,396 new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in Singapore, taking the total number of infected in the country to 230,077.

Of the new cases, 2,243 were in the community, 136 were in migrant worker hostels and 17 were imported cases, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a press release on Thursday.

A total of 1,610 Kovid-19 cases are currently in hospitals, of which 270 cases are in general ward and 59 cases are unstable and in ICU, reports Xinhua news agency.

In addition, 70 cases are critically ill and the current all-in-all ICU utilization rate is 68.9 percent.

The ministry said that eight more patients died due to Kovid-19 infection, taking the death toll to 548.
