England pacer James Anderson says he thoroughly enjoyed his duel with Virat Kohli during the Test series this year and termed it as his favorite in many of his encounters with the star batsman. When there are Test matches between India and England, then the match of Kohli vs Anderson is always in the discussion.
Anderson dominated in 2014, while Kohli showed his flair in the 2018 tour of England and did not let this fast bowler run. This year Anderson dismissed Kohli twice in four Test matches.
According to ESPNcricinfo, Anderson said, “My favorite match this summer with Virat. We have had some good matches in India and England in the last few years but this year’s match is definitely my favourite. ”
“I got him out on a few occasions but he also scored some runs and there was definitely mutual respect involved in this on-field fight between us. ”
Anderson said, “Our rivalry on the field progressed well. Of course we tried to dominate each other but did so in a good spirit. So I thoroughly enjoyed it. ”
Regarding the Ashes series, Anderson said that he is looking forward to bowling to Australia’s star batsman Steve Smith.
“As a bowler you always look at the best player and Steve Smith is Australia’s best player in the last three, four or five years,” he said.
